(Boston, MA) – With summer in full swing, so is the highly-competitive summer job search for teens. Summer jobs benefit the youth in many ways, teaching valuable job skills, keeping them busy and helping them learn. This year, public funding will provide 185 summer jobs for Lawrence, MA youth and the city’s Mayor Rivera is asking the business community to match the public contribution, by financing youths to work at a local non-profit organizations like Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence, City of Lawrence, CLCAC Inc., and the Merrimack Valley Work Force Investment Board. Sal Lupoli, of Lupoli Companies, took the mayor’s challenge in stride and generously donated $6,200, which covers sponsorship for 8 kids, for the Mayor Rivera’s Summer Jobs Initiative for Lawrence youth. This kind of charity is what the initiative is looking for to be able to provide all 185 job opportunities to the local youth.
