Quality Assurance Specialist

SAL’s PRODUCTION- SALEM, NH

Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Vice President, Commissary & Wholesale Division, you will work closely with all departments to implement and maintain our food safety plan to drive a food safety and a quality culture and produce product that meets all required standards. The position is also responsible for helping enforce plant safety and enforce compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and revise food safety policies, including facility HACCP

  • Lead and participate in monthly management review meetings

  • Conduct monthly facility inspections

  • Participate in customer complaints

  • Foreign matter/metal monitoring and investigations

  • Organizes and conducts GMP, HACCP, SQF and any training that affect product quality or safety

  • Third party external audits

  • Conducts shelf life studies on new and existing products in conjunction with R & D

  • Manage compliance initiatives and projects

  • Maintain traceability on all raw and finished products

  • Oversee sanitation, environmental monitoring and training programs

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in food manufacturing/USDA & FDA

  • Familiarity with FSMA and GFSI certification schemes experience; SQF experience preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Familiarity with OSHA

  • Food Safety Manager/HACCP Manager: 2 years (Required)

  • SQF, GFSI and FSMA (PCQI): 1 year (Required)

  • Spanish speaking a plus
