Lupoli Cos. launches green card program

Sal Lupoli, president and CEO of The Lupoli Cos., said Monday the company is launching a new citizenship initiative pilot program for Lawrence, Mass.

The pilot program would provide green card holding employees with free legal guidance, educational assistance, citizenship training and language skills development to help them in pre-qualifying for U.S. citizenship.

The initiative costs about $10,000 and is fully funded by the Lupoli Cos., which is based in Lawrence, as well as the city of Lawrence and The Larry Fish Foundation -- the Boston-based family foundation of Larry Fish, CEO of Citizen's Bank.

Ten employees of Lupoli Cos. have been selected as the first to benefit from the pilot program.

The Lupoli Cos. operate Sal's Pizza and Salvatore's Restaurants.
